The PADI Open Water Diver course is made up of three parts. The first part is knowledge acquisition and covers everything you need to know about technical basics, terminology and safety when diving. The second part is confined water dives, which are training sessions in a confined open water area, which includes pools or bodies of water with protected areas. They give you the opportunity to get used to your equipment and practice basic diving skills and techniques to keep you safe. The third part is open water dives. After all, that's what it's all about - you're diving in the ocean for the first time! During the four dives, you'll practice various skills so you can be a confident and competent diver underwater and on the surface. The training session usually only takes up the first part of the dive, meaning the rest of the time is spent exploring the underwater world with your instructor. As soon as your open water training dives have been approved by your instructor, you will receive your "Open Water Diver" certification from PADI! You can now rent diving equipment for life and dive to a depth of 18 meters worldwide!
