1. BOOKING

Once we receive your booking, we double check availability with the dive operator and reserve your spot

2. CONFIRMATION

We usually get back to you within 24 hours to confirm that your booking is final

3. 48H FREE CANCELLATION PERIOD

You then have 48 hours to take care of other travel arrangements. Your credit card will only be charged after that period

STANDARD CANCELLATION POLICY:

If the reservation is cancelled more than 30 days prior to arrival there will be no penalty.

Summer (low season):If the reservation is cancelled within 30-15 days of arrival, there will be a one night penalty.

Winter (high season): If the reservation is cancelled within 30-15 days of arrival, there will be a three night penalty.

If the reservation is cancelled within 14 days prior to arrival, there will be 100% penalty. Should you change the dates of your reservation within 30 days of your arrival our cancellation policy, as stated, will apply. Unused portions of packages are non-refundable and non-transferable. If Amex is used for payment and the reservation is cancelled a 4% fee will be deducted from the refund.

Set on a coastal road about 3/4 miles (1.2km) south of George Town, this is a well-recommended middle-bracket hotel whose rooms are divided among a quintet of two-story pink-sided outbuildings. Accommodations are simple, no-nonsense, and comfortable. This place is favored by divers and snorkelers.

Refresher Courses

If it has been over two years since the last time you were diving a Refresher Course is required before being allowed to dive in the marine parks. These courses are mandatory before diving from shore or on our boats:

  • 2 years or more - Standard Refresher Course includes an academic review, SCUBA skill circuit in the pool, followed by a shallow guided dive on the house reef. 
  • 5 – 7 years - ReActivate Half Day Course, as above but divers complete the ReActivate course online before joining one of our Instructors.
  • 7+ years - ReActivate Full Day Course, if it has been a while since your last dive you can complete the ReActivate course online before joining one of our experienced Instructors for a full day of skills and diving.  Includes 2 guided shore dives.

Resort Description

Sunset House is located on a coastal road overlooking the Caribbean sea.

The crystal clear waters around Grand Cayman Island offer year-round visibility, warm temperatures and miles of coral reef. Deep drop offs and wrecks create a home for spotted eagle rays, sea turtles and hundreds of colourful reef fish. 

Sunset House is an intimate, “scuba diving friendly” family-owned hotel with only 36 rooms. Rooms are divided among five two-story, buildings, set against a jagged, rocky shoreline provided extensive diving opportunities to guests. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from George Town. An intimate, white sand beach is a short stroll away.

Enjoy fantastic food at My Bar & Sea Harvest restaurant, a huge open-sided, thatch-roofed cabana overlooking the beautiful Caribbean and offering the largest outdoor bar in Grand Cayman. Winner of a 'Best of Caribbean' award, it's been a favourite among locals for 60 years.

How to get there

Arrival

  • The nearest airport is GCM, George town/ Owen Roberts International Airport
  • Upon arrival you must keep the immigration card given to you; you will be required to present it to an Immigration Officer upon your departure or collected by the airline agent upon checking in.
  • After you have cleared Immigration and Customs, go outside to the Taxi Dispatcher and let them know you need to go to Sunset House. If you have purchased a prepaid airport transfer at check out, the resort will pay the taxi fare when you arrive. If not, you will need to pay the taxi driver directly. 
  • Please forward your flight details once you have them sorted. 
  • The journey will last 10 minutes.  
  • The resort does not tip the drivers, so if you feel that you have received good service and help with loading and unloading your luggage, please feel free to tip. As with any other business, if you aren’t given good service, do not feel like you have to tip.

At the resort

  • Upon arrival to the resort, guests are welcomed at front desk by our resort staff. Guests will be asked to complete a guest registration form and leave a credit card on file for their incidental charges at the bar, restaurant or dive shop. Welcome information will be handed out and you will receive a briefing about the resort.
  • Staff are on hand to escort guests to their room and help with their luggage.
  • Check in time is 3pm onwards, but the resort will do thier best to accommodate early arrivals to the resort.
  • The front desk is available 7am to 10pm.

Departure

  • Checkout time is by 12pm noon.
  • Departure transfers can be arranged at the front desk.
