Perfect eco-lodge for scuba divers. The concept is: - in the morning: one or two guided dives, from a zodiac. The price (0-20 €) depends on the distance from the dive site. You don't choose the site. - in the afternoon and evening: 2 autonomous dives from a nearby site (a few minutes by zodiac). Free. Please note, unlike the other two Read Sea Diving Safari sites, it is impossible to dive or even snorkel from the edge, because there is not enough depth. At low tide, the zodiacs are moored far from the beach and you have to reach them with water up to your thighs. Diving boots required! The eco-lodge is small (40 rooms or tents). The buildings are not far from each other. This eco-lodge is less comfortable than the other Red Sea Diving Safari villages (the restaurant is not air-conditioned), it is more minimalist, without plant decoration. Sleeping in a tent is a pleasant experience if you don't mind the noise of the sea and the wind. Pleasant temperature at night, unbearable during the day. The effects of global warming are clearly visible: very warm water (32°C mid-September 2023) and there are more and more white corals. They are not dead yet (they come back to life in winter), but for how long? There are fewer fish than in Marsa Shagra. The staff is efficient, understandable, friendly. Read Sea Diving Safari is a serious organization: I had a desaturation accident which was very well managed. Two instructors took care of me for a whole afternoon, doing the right things, taking me to see the doctor in Marsa Shagra (2 hours drive) and monitoring me until 10:00 p.m. I didn't pay anything extra. They even managed to transfer me to the village of Marsa Shagra, at the request of the doctor who preferred that I be close to him in case I had another accident.

This ecolodge is made up of normal tents, royal tents and bungalows. The comfort is basic: no air conditioning in the tents, just two beds in the basic tents, a mini fridge and two beanbags in the royal tents in addition, in short it's more than basic... Common toilets sometimes far from some tents. The communal areas (restaurant, kite center) are nice, and the staff are adorable. No swimming pool, swimming in the sea possible but not great with the tides... Top diving club, two dives in the morning at 8:30 a.m., return around 11:00 a.m. Then dive at 2:00 p.m., and Night dive in the evening possible. Top security and team. Very nice kite center, with chill corner. Top staff for supervision and help on the beach. Possibility to rent equipment. Good roots experience, sometimes a little boring if you don't dive every day. But lots of good memories from the week spent there.

I’ve been to two of the red sea properties and both are lacking information online and once there. So, I hope this review helps answers some questions you might have. First off, if you aren’t a diver, I recommend staying somewhere else. This place caters to mostly divers and it’s not too clear online because they list other activities. We went for snorkeling and you cannot book any activities before hand. So, when we got there and tried to book a snorkeling trip, we were told “most of the divers have already been to this reef, so most likely not” the dive master did end up working with us and we paid for a private boat to go to the spot we wanted. However, you aren’t allowed to free dive any. They should update their photos online if this is the case because they clearly show freedivers. And since this is part of why we chose this place it was a big let down. Since you can’t book in advance, I don’t think you should stay less than 3 nights at any of these properties. Everything has to be booked a day in advance on the property itself and with the dive master. If the dive master is out diving, you have to wait to book until he comes back around 6pm. This camp is also the smallest of the three properties and there isn’t many places to relax/hangout besides the main eating hall. There needs to be some seating areas around/on the beach. There is a bar in the kite surfing shop, where you can buy beer or wine with cash only. I'm not sure how you book anything in the kite school because it was not explained and the guy working the bar didn’t even say a hello. Everyone at this camp was very friendly and our favorite person was the chef, he was also so happy and greeted everyone with a smile. Plus he food was amazing for every meal!!! The instructor that took us out for the private snorkeling day was also amazing, I wish I could remembered his name. Overall, the place is great but is lacking information before and after you arrive. What would help is a welcome packet when you book online or more communication about how the property works.

This is my third visit to Wadi Lahami and my fourth with Red Sea Diving safari. Do I need to say any more? What makes this place to unique is the idyllic and secluded set-up in the dessert (you will love the stars at night), the amazing dive spots near by, the crazy Zodiac rides to the dive sites (be aware, there is no house reef, hence you will need to go out by boat and enjoy it), the reduction to the basics But most outstanding the amazing staff from the booking manager, to the driver, to the cleaning staff, the chefs, the receptionists and the dive crew. They make you feel welcome and appreciated! A special thank goes out to Mr Fatah (?). He is the Master of the shared bathrooms. Not once did I have to queue for a bathroom or a shower and not once was there any dirt in the bathrooms, I do not know how he does it, but he keeps everything spotless all the time. Thank you!
