3. 48H FREE CANCELLATION PERIOD

You then have 48 hours to take care of other travel arrangements. Your credit card will only be charged after that period

Description

Vilamendhoo Island Resort & Spa is located in the beautiful and versatile South Ari Atoll and can be reached by seaplane approximately 20 minutes from the airport. It is one of the few real divers islands with its beautiful house reef, nearby dive sites and whale shark national park.

Our PADI 5-Star dive center offers various PADI courses. Beginners can gain their first Discover Scuba Diving experience on the house reef.

For divers who want to explore independently and at their own pace, the house reef is open throughout the day and for night dives.

There are around 50 beautiful dive sites nearby. Manta rays and Whale Shark sightings are possible all year round, and a wide variety of marine life that only very few places in the world can offer.

The Dhigurah channel is located between the two local islands, Dangethi and Dhigurah and can be reached by Dhoni in 30 min from Vilamendhoo.

This channel offers many breathtaking Thilas like 7th heaven, Lucky Hell, Reethi Thila or Kuda Rah Thila, which is often considered one of the best dive sites in the Maldives.

Divers seeking adventures can try diving with an underwater scooter (DPV). It is EASY to handle and lots of FUN.

Our morning, afternoon and full-day dive trips will bring you to the most impressive famous dive sites in South Ari Atoll for spectacular dives you will never forget. In addition, whale shark national park and Manta cleaning stations are offered multiple times per week.

Resort Description

Vilamendhoo Island Resort & Spa offers white sand beaches, lush tropical greenery and traditional Maldivian palm trees, all surrounded by a crystal-clear lagoon and bustling coral reef.

Accommodation is diverse, ranging from colourful Garden Rooms through to Jacuzzi Water Villas (jacuzzi villas are adults-only), which are set on stilts above the water and feature two-person Jacuzzis for 'under the stars' relaxation alongside stunning views.

There's an award-winning spa on site, as well as water and land sports such as kayaking, windsurfing, petanque and a fitness center. Whale shark, manta and turtle excursions are also on offer, alongside fishing, sunset cruises and nightly entertainment.

Romantic candlelit dinners or the champagne breakfast room service are available to add something a bit different to your vacation, and there is an adults-only restaurant on site to enjoy. There's also two superb a la carte restaurants, a snack restaurant, and three bars to indulge your senses!

How to get there

Arrival

  • Having landed in Male International Airport, proceed to the nearby Crown & Champa Resort Booth B9  in the Arrivals Hall where a representative will assist you with your luggage and direct you to your shuttle bus.
  • A shuttle bus will transport you the 10 minute journey between the International Arrival Terminal and TMA (Trans Maldivian Airways) terminal.
  • Vilamendhoo Island Resort is a scenic and convenient 25 minute sea plane transfer from the Terminal.
  • Seaplanes are normally scheduled to depart within one hour of all guests clearing Immigration and Customs.
  • Seaplanes only fly during daylight hours, between 6 am and 6 pm. Therefore, the last departure is at 4 pm. If your international flight lands later than 3 pm, you may not be able to make the last seaplane departure and will have to stay overnight in Male. 
  • Maximum checked in luggage is 20 kg per passenger.

Departure

  • A sea plane and shuttle bus will transport you the return 25 minute flight and 10 minute bus ride to Male International Airport.
  • Airline policy requires passengers to check in 2 hours prior to flight departure, so guests from Vilamendhoo Island Resort may catch international flights departing after 9 am.
  • The last sea plane departure of the day from Vilamendhoo Island Resort leaves usually around 4 pm.
     

After clearing customs and picking up your luggage, exit into the Arrivals hall, then turn right and walk a few steps to the Crown & Champa Resorts Counter (CCR) #59, where an airport representative will meet and greet you. The representative will direct you to the Domestic Airline check-in counter. Once checked-in, you will then be transferred to Vilamendhoo's Seaplane Lounge.

Kindly note that access to the Seaplane Lounge upon arrival is complimentary for all guests. Upon departure, guests have the option to enjoy its comforts at an extra charge.
