We conduct three boat dives per day and we scuba dive the best dive sites in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park Kota Kinabalu. You will not see the same dive site twice – unless you want to of course!

Our diver-to-dive-guide ratios are very low, ensuring that new divers are well looked after and experienced divers can enjoy the dive to the fullest.

PADI 5 Star Dive Center

Our PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre is on the idyllic Gaya Island, just 10 minutes by boat from Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah, Malaysia.

The dive centre is right on the beach, surrounded by dense, tropical rainforest, from where we offer adventures both below the water’s surface and above. We cater to fun divers, pro divers and groups with tailored programs to suit your needs and all-inclusive packages means that once paid, there is nothing else to worry about. Our island operations are supported by our travel and dive shop on the mainland, where you can book accommodation, travel and buy any equipment you may need for diving, hiking Mt. You must complete a PADI standard liability forms at the mainland departure jetty and dive centre. Parent or guardian must sign for participants under 18 years of age. After scuba diving, current PADI Flying After Diving guidelines state that you should not go to altitude (this includes flying and climbing) within 18 hours when completing multiple scuba dives.

What to expect

Our Daily Diving Program consists of 3 boat dives a day and we dive within the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park to 49 dive sites. All are accessible to us and only 5-8 minutes ride away from Manukan Island.

Providing a very special experience based at an island resort, Downbelow’s Manukan Dive Centre is a fun place to spend the day enjoy the tropical surroundings and chat about all the wonderful creatures you will have spotted.

During your surface intervals, you can choose to relax by the resort pool, treat yourself to a slow mango lassi or cappuccino (all food & beverage is at your own expense). Resort washrooms are provided.

How to get there

Our colleague will be waiting at the Waiting Hut, Sutera Marina Jetty latest by 0730 hrs. He will be wearing a Dive Downbelow T-shirt. This is the meeting point from where we guide you to our boat and whisk you away to our dive centre!
