PADI 5 Star Dive Center

DiveKomodo was established in 1997 and is actively involved in conservation efforts around Komodo National Park to help protect, promote, manage and develop Komodo for the future.

Spend a day or more cruising and diving through Indonesia's Galapagos! A true Jurassic Park with Komodo Dragons patrolling the beaches and manta rays breaching around you. The diving in Komodo is beyond description, surely one of the top ten diving hot spots in the world! 

We offer access to dive sites throughout Komodo National Park and beyond, as well as a range of PADI courses from Open Water Diver level through to professional qualifications.

In total there are twenty sites to choose from, including the most popular sites in Komodo such as Castle, Crystal, Cauldron, Manta Point, Batu Bolong, Tatawa, Mawan, Siaba, Sebayur and many more. Our liveaboard has an even bigger selection.

The center trains local staff to Divemaster and Captain qualifications.  We are commited to preserving the environment through good practises. We regularly support Trash Hero Komodo, are proud members of dive association DOCK and part of the WWF Signing Blue program. Notable projects include installing moorings throughout the park, working with Komodo National Park to implement visitors code of conduct regulations and organising clean up days with hundreds of local school children.

Package description

Requirements

  • Minimum age: 15+
  • Min. certification: Open Water Certification required
  • Min logged dives: None
  • If you haven't dived in the last 12 months you may require a Refresher which is incorporated into the trip (add on to this activity). If you feel very rusty then please check out our Re-Activate program.

What to expect

Pop into our office the day before to say hello. We will then complete your registration, try your gear and collect Komodo National Park fees.

On the day of the trip meet our dive team in our office at 7.15am. We will walk together to the harbor in just a couple of minutes. Once all onboard we will start heading out to open sea, the journey to Komodo National Park takes around 70min and then perhaps some more depending on the program of the day.

We will pick the three best dive sites of the day taking into consideration your experience level, weather and currents. If you dive multiple days then we aim to offer new sites each day. 

Our sites are all unique in terms of topography, marine life, currents and the way we dive them. Our dive team will give a thorough briefing before each dive so that you know what to expect. We often see reef sharks, turtles, mantas, groupers, giant trevally in addition to colorful coral reefs full with fish and strange critters. 

We have at least one hour-long break between the dives and provide refreshments, freshly cooked lunch and drinks. 

The return time will vary but we usually arrive in Labuan Bajo around 5pm, just in time to find a good spot for enjoying the sunset.
