It is the most beautiful diving and snorkeling in Costa Rica, and has been described as a mini Cocos Island. Come scuba dive with the Sharks at Cano island!
The island is situated about 2 hours south by boat, along the way we regularly spot Pan Tropical Dolphins, Rays and Sea Turtles. The Bajo del Diablo Pinnacles is one of the famous sites there with giant schools of pelagic fish, Barracuda, Trevelly Jacks and Pompano, white tip reef sharks and rays. This dive is max 80ft and can have some currents. Nearer to the island are many fantastic shallower sites which are great for a combination dive and snorkel trip, where many beautiful reef fish can be seen. Visibility at Cano often exceeds 80 feet. We snorkel or dive at least 2 different sites, all accompanied by a guide and also visit the island.
The boats depart at approx 7:00 am from Uvita and returns at approximately 3:30pm (all trips are dependent on the weather). The trip includes National Park fees, equipment, dive or snorkel guide, picnic lunch, tropical fruits, cookies, juices, water.
Look for the scuba diving flag and PADI sign on the right hand side before the entrance of the Ballena National Park. You will receive a confirmation email from Oceans Unlimited naming the exact spot that you will need to meet the crew and boat in Ballena.
