Dive into an underwater adventure exploring the vibrant corals of the Great Barrier Reef and the awe-inspiring Museum of Underwater Art (MOUA). Enjoy two exhilarating dives at world-class sites teeming with marine life.
Your day begins at Breakwater Marina in Townsville or Nelly Bay on Magnetic Island, where you'll check in and board our custom-built dive vessel bound for John Brewer Reef, part of the central Great Barrier Reef.
As we cruise to the reef, our experienced crew will give a full safety briefing and assist with dive gear setup while you enjoy morning sea breezes and coastal views.
The first dive of the day is at the Museum of Underwater Art (MOUA) — the only underwater art museum in the Southern Hemisphere. Situated 16 metres below the surface, MOUA’s Coral Greenhouse, designed by world-renowned artist Jason deCaires Taylor, is a breathtaking fusion of art, science, and conservation.
Surrounded by a thriving coral reef ecosystem, this site is designed to spark conversation about reef protection and climate change. The structure is embedded with sculptures of marine "guardians" and coral propagation elements to support reef regeneration. The installation also draws inspiration from Indigenous knowledge and the reef’s cultural significance.
After exploring MOUA, enjoy a fresh onboard lunch and time to relax in the tropical sunshine.
Your second dive takes place on the surrounding John Brewer Reef, where you’ll discover vibrant coral gardens, schools of reef fish, and a chance to spot turtles, rays, or reef sharks — all in crystal-clear waters.
Throughout the day, the crew will share insights into the reef’s biodiversity, marine park management, and how you can contribute to its long-term preservation.
We’ll wrap up with light refreshments before cruising back to Townsville or Magnetic Island, arriving in the late afternoon — salty, smiling, and inspired by the beauty of the reef and the message of MOUA.
