One Ocean Zanzibar

PADI 5 Star Dive Center

One Ocean Zanzibar holds the distinction of being Zanzibar's first and most reputable PADI 5-Star dive center.

Offering daily excursions for both divers and snorkelers, One Ocean provides two dives per trip, complete with a refreshing surface interval at sea featuring local snacks, fresh fruit, and water. Dive groups are organized based on qualifications, skills, and experience, with a maximum of 4 guests per guide for a personalized experience.

The dive center operates from three locations: Stone Town, Matemwe, and Kendwa. Please note transfers between locations are not included in our rates.

Stone Town: Explore coral gardens, macro-life, wrecks, and night dives. Boats depart from Kenyatta Road at 9:00 a.m. (meet at 8:30) and return by 1:30 p.m. Sunset cruises and trips to Prison Island are also available.
Matemwe: Dive Mnemba Atoll, Zanzibar’s top dive spot, with two 45-50 min sessions. Boats leave in the morning (meet at 8:00) and return by 1:30 p.m. Free transfers are provided from select hotels.
Kendwa: Discover Tumbatu Island and Nungwi reefs, featuring some of the island’s best corals. Trips include two 45-60 min dives or snorkeling, with departures between 8:00-10:00 a.m., lasting 5-6 hours.

What to expect

How are our trips organised?

Our boats take both divers and snorkellers and we are going out for two dives a day with a surface interval spent on the boat, in which we provide local snacks, fruit and water. The boats leave in the morning and are back early afternoon.

Stone Town

Our traditional dhow boat leaves from our dive centre, located at the bottom of Kenyatta Road, at 9:00 in the morning (meeting time 8:30). The boat is usually back at the dive centre by 13:30.

Matemwe

We leave early in the morning (meeting time 8:00) and are back early afternoon (between 13:00 and 13:45) depending on the tide. Because of the big tidal changes, we frequently travel to another beach by bus to meet the boat. It’s a quick, easy drive on an excellent road.
