WRITS & BARRIERS
A new itinerary that offers the possibility of being able to alternate dives on the very famous wrecks and the wonderful barriers of the north of the Red Sea, for unique and continuous emotions. On the seabed of the Abu Nuhas reef, a few miles from the island of Gobal, lie 4 splendid ships sunk in various eras: Carnatic (sunk in 1869), the Giannis. D. (sunk in 1983), Chrisoula K. (sunk in 1981) and Kimon M. (sunk in 1978).
Magnificent stretches of coral reef are ideal places for encounters with large groupers and large moray eels, and encounters with dolphins are not uncommon either. For example, at "Bluff point", where the boat often spends the night, and where night diving is carried out on an old Egyptian barge. It is a reef full of huge sea fans, colorful alcionaria, but also of hard corals, madrepores and umbrella corals of unusual size, surrounded by clouds of reef fish. With ideal sea conditions and expert divers, you can dive on the magnificent Rosalie Moeler, a splendid English steamer, sunk during the Second World War by two German planes.
Crossing the Gobal canal we reach the extensive reef of Sha'ab Ali, where we will dive on the Thiestlegorm, one of the most beautiful wrecks in the world, both for its considerable size (over 126 meters) and for the amount of life that was created around this artificial barrier. Perfect sailing position at a depth of 30 meters in the Shaab Ali area. The bow is intact, and here you can still admire the vehicles, motorcycles, trucks, ammunition and other material that was intended for English troops in Africa. We will then sail to Beacon Rock where the English wreck of the Dunraven is found, sunk on April 22, 1876 while preparing to return home. After the time of the wrecks we will sail north to reach the mythical dive of Ras Mohammed, historically considered one of the most beautiful dives in the world.
From Ras Mohammed we will then sail towards the Straits of Tiran where the spectacular vertical walls of Gordon, Thomas canyon, Woodhouse and Jackson reef await us.
