What you can expect
Newly built in 2014 and refurbished annually, the 30-meter Calico Jack offers every modern convenience to its guests. The yacht was built as a classic Phinisi schooner, adding a local touch to your journey and ensuring the liveaboard can expertly handle the sometimes rough Indonesian waters.
Considering there is a maximum of 10 guests on board there is plenty of room on this classic Phinisi schooner as it cruises Komodo, Raja Ampat and beyond. The yacht has everything you will need and more. During the cruise you’ll have access to two dining areas (indoors and outdoors), a spacious lounge, a sundeck and the dive deck.
The internet is not provided on board, but a satellite telephone is available for emergency use. Divers can lounge in the indoor and covered, open-air dining areas. They might also enjoy the TV and DVD-player found along with comfortable seating in the lounge. A computer and sound system is also provided. Sun-seekers can top up their tan on the spacious sun deck. And during the day, you’ll also be treated to free reign of fishing equipment, kayaks, SUB boards and wake boards.
In addition to these great amenities, two to three excursions are usually offered during each itinerary. While sailing Raja Ampat, you might have the chance to climb Wayang or search for a Bird of Paradise. The Komodo itinerary includes stops at Komodo National Park and remote islands for snorkeling, chatting with the locals or hiking in dense rain forests.
The Calico Jack features There are 5 boutique cabins to choose from: 2 double bed cabins, 2 double or single bed cabins (the double beds can be separated into 2 single beds) and 1 twin cabin. Each cabin is fitted with private en-suite bathrooms, hot showers, air conditioning, as well as individual fans to ensure the comfort of our guests. There is plenty of storage space and 220v charging points which operate 19 hours a day.
Food and beverage
The crew of the Calico Jack is well-equipped to keep you full and happy during your trip on the high seas. You will wake up each morning to a light breakfast consisting of coffee, tea and toast. A full breakfast, cooked to order, will follow your first dive. Lunch and a 3-course dinner are both served to your table, adding a bit of class to your dining experience. Biscuits and toast are available throughout the day to keep you from hunger between meals.
All meals, coffee, tea, snacks, fruit juice and drinking water are included. Soft drinks, espresso, and alcoholic beverages are available for purchase.
While traveling with the Calico Jack, you will be served a varied menu of Italian, Chinese, BBQ and Indonesian dishes. All special dietary requirements can be catered to given advance notice. You will have the option of enjoying your meals in the indoor dining area or eating on the open-air deck while enjoying views of passing islands and sea.
