The Quino El Guardian is a research, investigation and education ship, combining world-best diving and conservation.
Quino was once a fishing vessel and was redesigned into a ship whose sole purpose is for scuba diving and scientific research.
Quino provides divers with the opportunity to visit enchanting destinations such as Socorro (Archipielago de Revillagigedo) and the Sea of Cortez. They offer the same diving experiences, along with an exceptional crew and delicious food that their guests have come to appreciate on Rocio del Mar, all at an incredible value.
Quino el Guardian offers fun and exciting scuba diving experiences, including their truly unique Citizen Science Expeditions. It caters to individuals, as well as one-half and full charters, and even custom private charters. They can design trip itineraries based on the specific desires of the charter group, making it a wonderful option for single travelers as well.
The highly regarded liveaboard, Quino el Guardian, offers fantastic experiences in the iconic dive areas of the Socorro Islands, Sea of Cortez, and Baja California. Diving from either Rocio del Mar or Quino el Guardian, guests have three itineraries to choose from. Divers can swim with giant manta rays and hammerheads in the Socorro Islands, dive with mobula rays and playful sea lions in Baja California, or explore the Midriff Islands in the Sea of Cortez, teeming with marine life from nudibranchs and colorful jawfish to whale sharks.
When it comes to the vessel itself, Quino is 90 ft long with a 25 ft beam, providing room for 16 passengers and additional space for two group leaders in the crew quarters. There are five cabins, with four cabins featuring four beds each and one cabin with two beds. Each cabin has privacy curtains and four large size drawers, one for each guest. The vessel is equipped with air conditioning throughout for everyone's comfort.
There are four spacious community bathrooms, each with a full-size shower. Quino has a galley that comfortably accommodates all 16 passengers and features a projector and a drop-down screen for group presentations. The salon is furnished with comfortable sofas, a TV, and a computer table. The large shaded sundeck with lawn chairs is perfect for relaxing between dives.
Quino's popularity is fueled by their exceptional food. All meals and snacks are included, starting with a heavy continental breakfast consisting of bagels, toast, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereals, fresh juices, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. After the first dive, guests enjoy an American-style breakfast with items like pancakes, waffles, eggs, breakfast meats, and potatoes. Following the second dive, a hearty lunch awaits, beginning with a homemade soup followed by a plated meal featuring fish, beef, or chicken, fresh vegetables, homemade pasta salads, burgers, fish tacos, and more.
In the mid-afternoon, a lovely snack is prepared, including mini sandwiches, sliced cheese and meats, nachos, guacamole, and more. The day concludes with a wonderful three-course dinner starting with a salad, followed by a main course featuring seafood, beef, chicken, or pork cooked with savory spices, paired with vegetables, pastas, and potatoes. Fresh daily desserts provide a sweet surprise.
Weather permitting, Quino offers a special evening on the top deck where the chef prepares carne asada, and the entire crew joins in to serve the guests. Hot and cold beverages, including canned soft drinks, are available throughout the day. After the last dive of the day, complimentary beer and wine are provided.
