Join us on our eco-conscious manatee tours, where our crew will guide you into Kings Bay, the 588 acre refuge our wild manatees call home. All tour guests initially meet at our dive shop where they will watch a video from USFWS on Manatee manners, followed up with an educational briefing on the do’s and dont’s of swimming with manatees. After the briefing all guests are fitted into wetsuits and shuttled to the dock where you will meet your crew.
Our USCG certified captains take all guests on our pontoon boats out into the bay to locate a manatee for everyone to snorkel alongside. Here you get to observe the manatees in their natural environment with a chance to see them eating, resting and sometimes playing! All manatees and manatee tours are different as mother nature controls the trip. Some manatees are curious enough to come up and say hi! Others prefer to do their own thing while we can watch them from afar.
Manatees are the star of the show but not the only critter that can be spotted on the bay. We have a variety of birds, from Osprey to Bald Eagles, many fish, turtles, and on more uncommon occasions, Dolphins!
After the tour, your Captain will bring you back to dock where you are then shuttled back to our dive shop. There you have an opportunity to change, rinse off in our complimentary showers and shop at our gift shop!
The tour is 3 hours from start to finish, including 1 hour of prep work and 2 hours on the water. We recommend all guests to be prepared to be with us for 3.5 hours, this gives you enough time to change and prepare for your tour. This tour also includes admission to our Aquarium at no extra charge! We recommend guests plan their trip accordingly, as our aquarium has timed entries.
