The Sleeping Lion (Kicker Rock) is one of the most emblematic places in the Galapagos - Ecuador, you will have one of the best snorkeling on San Cristóbal Island.
During the navigation you will be able to observe dolphins and several species of birds. When you arrive at León Dormido you will be able to observe the majestic standing rock of volcanic lava. The naturalist guide will proceed to give you detailed information about the place and the animals around it.
There are 2 snorkelling sessions, the first from the channel between the two rocks, and a second session in the west corner of the rock. The naturalist guide may suggest another site on the rock or a long snorkel session in turn, depending on ocean conditions. Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes. In this place you can see different marine species such as the Galapagos shark, white and black tip sharks, hammerhead sharks, turtles, manta rays, sunfish, dolphins, sea lions, starfish, sea urchins, and different types of fish. , etc. In the same way, you can observe birds such as blue-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, pelicans and frigates around the rock.
Once they have visited León Dormido, passengers will disembark at a beach that could be Manglesito / Puerto Grande / Cerro Brujo, depending on the boat itinerary. Here they will take a walk along the beach and have time to do a snorkeling activity.
