If you’ve always wanted to take scuba diving lessons, experience unparalleled adventure and see the world beneath the waves, this is where it starts.
The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three parts. The first part focuses on learning the fundamentals, covering everything you need to know about the technical basics, terminology, and safety of diving. The second part includes confined water dives, meaning training sessions in enclosed open waters such as pools or bodies of water with protected areas. These give you the opportunity to familiarize yourself with your equipment and practice basic diving skills and techniques to keep you safe. These five dives take place over four sessions, with each session lasting approximately 3.5 hours. In the third part, you will complete open water dives. After all, that's the reason for this part – you will dive in the ocean for the first time! During these four dives, you will practice various skills that will allow you to act confidently and competently as a diver, both underwater and on the surface. The training session usually only takes up the first part of the dive, meaning you can spend the rest of the time exploring the underwater world with your instructor. Once your open water dives have been approved by your instructor, you will receive your PADI Open Water Diver certification! Now you can rent scuba equipment for life and dive worldwide to a depth of 18 meters!
