As a diver or swimmer it is very important to be prepared to provide assistance without diving equipment whether in a pool or open water environment.
Learning water rescue skills prepares you to respond to an emergency whether in confined waters or in an open water environment.
This course is divided into two parts, utility swimming, here you will learn side swimming styles, water polo support, basic backstroke, and inverted breaststroke.
Then, applying first aid concepts, you will practice taking, releasing, grabbing and handling an aggressive victim.
Also handling an unconscious victim at the bottom, removing him and bringing him to the surface, towing a victim, while providing rescue breathing.
We will practice in the pool of the athletic gym located at 169b Street # 67-61
