Requirements

  • Minimum age: 12+
  • Min. certification: Open Water Certification required

  • PADI Open Water Diver or qualifying entry-level certification. Please note that completing the eLearning training for this course is mandatory. If you have not yet purchased the relevant eLearning or if it is not listed in the inclusions section above, please be sure to add the eLearning at checkout.

What to expect

The Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about advancing your skills and gaining experience. There’s no exam and you'll spend the majority of your time diving, not studying. The course includes five Adventure Dives: deep diving, underwater navigation, and three other dives of your choosing (see list below). You'll start by reading a chapter in the Advanced Open Water Diver manual or via the PADI eLearning® course Advanced Open Water Diver Online. After answering some questions about what you've read, you may practice skills in a calm water environment with your instructor, or you may dive straight into open water. For every Adventure Dive you complete, you may earn credit toward PADI® specialty certifications. The following Adventure Dives are available to scuba divers 10 years old and older: Altitude Diver AWARE-Fish Identification Boat Diver Digital Underwater Photography Dry Suit Diver Peak Performance Buoyancy Underwater Naturalist Underwater Navigator Scuba divers 12 years old and older may choose from these additional Adventure Dives: Deep Diver Diver Propulsion Vehicle Drift Diver Multilevel Diver Night Diver Search and Recovery Diver Underwater Videography Wreck Diver

Additionally, you will do the shark conservation specialty, with this you support all species including the whale shark and in the process you receive your PADI specialty.
