Requirements

Minimum age: 18+
Min. certification: Advanced Open Water Certification required
Min logged dives: +20 logged dives required
You must have the Rescue Diver course and be certified in EFR first aid with an updated license valid within the last two years.

What to expect

As a recreational diver you have prepared yourself to dive in crystal clear or clean waters and enjoy some good dives. The public safety diver prepares to support advanced security agencies or even to enter the water in conditions where the rescue requests it. This course prepares you to be able to safely manage a rescue of either material or physical evidence.

The course is structured like this:

Knowledge development, delivery of study material for review
Knowledge review classes in person or virtually
Two Confined Water Skill Development Sessions
Four open water dives to develop all the skills of the public safety diver course
Certification at the end of the entire process includes diploma, card and patch
