Many divers find sidemount diving is more comfortable than wearing a tank on their back.
Your PADI® Sidemount Diver training begins with completing the PADI eLearning® course Sidemount Diver online or reading the PADI Sidemount Diver manual. Through independent study, you'll learn about sidemount diving equipment and safety procedures. Next, you'll work with your instructor and learn how to set up sidemount diving equipment. In a pool or calm water environment, you’ll practice cylinder handling, how to switch from one regulator to another when diving with two tanks, safety procedures and problem management. Your sidemount scuba instructor will also help you find the right placement for your dive weights so you can comfortably maintain a streamlined position.
This course starts at the Aquasub Bogota headquarters and ends at the Bahia Solano headquarters, so you should plan ahead or join one of the scheduled excursions.
