Diving just doesn’t get any better, or easier, than when diving from Sand Dollar Dive Friends.

We are the gateway to Bari Reef, a sheltered reef that offers an incredible diversity of marine life. Guests at Sand Dollar enjoy exclusive access to the reef via several entries:  giant stride / stairs from the dock, easy walk in from the sandy beach, and two convenient stairways at the sun decks.

Dive Friends provides all the services necessary, from 24 hour access to tanks on the dock and at the drive thru, a large airy gear room, and wagons to transport your gear.  Boat dives, courses, and numerous tank pick up locations around the island ensure you’re getting the most out of your time on Bonaire.

All divers need to do the mandatory buoyancy check (Marine Park rules) on the house reef of the dive center before they can join the boat dives. This can not be done on the morning of the first boat dive, but needs to be done at least the day before that dive before 3:30pm.

Requirements

  • Minimum age: 18+
  • Min. certification: Divemaster Certification required
  • Min logged dives: +50 logged dives required
  • 1. PADI Divemaster or: • an instructor member in good standing (renewed or eligible to renew) with another recognized recreational diver training organization.* • have a leadership-level certification in good standing (renewed or eligible to renew) with another recognized recreational diver training organization;* 60 logged dives; documented experience in night diving, deep diving and underwater navigation. 2. 18 years old 3. Medical clearance attesting to dive fitness signed by a physician within the previous 12 months, and have had no medical condition changes. 4. Certified diver for at least six months. 5. Completed the EFR Primary and Secondary Care course, or other qualifying training, within the last 24 months. Note: Emergency First Response Instructor (or qualifying rating) is required for Open Water Scuba Instructor certification. 6. If not a PADI Divemaster, successfully complete the PADI Divemaster course diver rescue skills assessment. 7. Documentation of any nonPADI qualifying entry level, advanced, rescue and leadership level certifications* as required. *Contact your PADI Regional Headquarters with questions about eligibility or for more information.
