Your PADI Open Water Diver course starts at Cebu Fun Divers inside Cebu Seaview Dive Resort. When you arrive at the dive center, you will meet your instructor, complete the required paperwork, receive your course schedule, and get fitted with your scuba equipment.
The course combines theory, pool training, and real ocean dives. Your Knowledge Development can be completed through PADI eLearning or with your instructor, covering the essential basics of scuba equipment, dive planning, underwater communication, safety procedures, and how to dive responsibly.
Your first practical training takes place in our resort’s infinity pool. This gives you a calm, comfortable environment to get used to breathing underwater, handling your equipment, and practicing the core scuba skills step by step before moving into the ocean.
After the pool sessions, you continue with your Open Water training dives on our house reef and nearby dive sites. The house reef is directly in front of the resort and often offers encounters with turtles, reef fish, corals, and other tropical marine life while you complete your required training skills with your instructor.
The course includes four Open Water training dives, and at least one of these is conducted as a boat dive, giving you the chance to experience Moalboal’s famous dive sites from our dive boat as part of your certification course.
Throughout the course, your instructor will first focus on building safe diving habits and confidence. Once the required skills are completed, there is usually time during the dives to relax, explore, and enjoy the underwater world.
Free diving insurance by DAN is included during the course, giving you additional coverage while you complete your training.
The course ends once your instructor has approved all required theory, pool, and Open Water performance requirements. After certification, you become a PADI Open Water Diver, qualified to dive with a buddy to a maximum depth of 18 meters anywhere in the world.
We offer free transfers within Moalboal area. Just let us know at least a day in advance where you stay. Be prepared to be picked up at 8:30 am latest, your class starts at 9.
