The PADI Open Water Diver Course is designed for anyone who is 10 years or older and interested in learning to dive. The course provides the foundational skills, knowledge, and experience needed to safely dive to a maximum depth of 18 meters/60 feet.
Knowledge Development: You’ll learn the basic principles of scuba diving, including dive theory, safety practices, dive equipment, and underwater communication. This is done through self-paced online learning, classroom sessions, or video presentations.
Confined Water Dives: You'll practice essential scuba skills in a controlled environment, such as a pool or shallow water, under the supervision of a certified instructor. Skills include how to set up your gear, how to clear water from your mask, how to control your buoyancy, and how to handle common underwater situations.
Open Water Dives: The final component of the course involves completing four open water dives (usually over two days), where you’ll apply your skills in a real diving environment. These dives are conducted in a natural setting like a lake, reef, or coastal area, giving you the opportunity to explore the underwater world.
