If you’ve always wanted to take scuba diving lessons, experience unparalleled adventure and see the world beneath the waves, this is where it starts.
The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases. Most people start with home study, also known as knowledge development. In this phase, you'll learn about scuba equipment, hand signals and terminology, and watch videos on scuba diving skills. Knowledge development can be completed at your own pace, in a few weeks or a few days. The most popular choice for knowledge development is PADI eLearning®, an independent study option where you read, watch videos and take quizzes using your computer or mobile device. Study online or offline at your convenience. Next, you'll practice scuba skills in a calm water (confined water) environment. During these training sessions, you'll get comfortable putting on scuba equipment and learn essential skills such as clearing water from your mask, performing a pre-dive safety check and making ascents and descents. When you're ready, you'll take your first open water dive (in the beautiful sea of La Maddalena). The Open Water Diver course includes four dives. During each dive, you practice skills followed by a guided dive with your instructor. After completing the four training dives, you’re a certified PADI Open Water Diver for life! Use your certification anywhere in the world to book dive adventures, rent equipment and dive independently with a buddy to depths of up to 18 metres/60 feet. If you spend a lot of time out of the water, you can quickly refresh your skills with the PADI ReActivate® program.
You can find us inside the Abbatoggia Camping, in the north of the island. Tell the campsite reception that you are a client of Argonauta Diving, park your car in the parking lot located near the reception and walk towards the beach where you will immediately see the diving center!
