Be a leader who mentors and motivates others. Gain dive knowledge, supervision abilities, and become a role model to divers around the world. PADI Dive Master is the first step in your diving career.
Share your passion for scuba diving by becoming a PADI Divemaster. The course teaches you to be a leader and take charge of dive activities through:
Knowledge development sessions: you will complete this part online by yourselves (eLearning option), during online lessons with us and during the practical portion to improve and practice what you have learnt in theory (this part includes: the role and characteristics of the PADI Divemaster, diver safety and risk management, business of diving and your career, awareness of the dive environment and dive setup and management).
Water-skills exercises: you have to complete some swimming exercises and some others with scuba equipment on the surface and underwater.
Workshops: this part includes 24 skills (exercises you have learnt during your previous courses).
Hands-on practical assessment: you develop the skills to organize and direct a variety of scuba diving activities (for example Mapping an open water site, conducting dive briefings, organizing a search and recovery project and a deep dive)
Programs: During this part you will learn how to conduct some courses (for example conducting a scuba review and skin diver course, assisting with Discover Scuba Diving and leading Discover Local Diving programs)
Practice evaluation: Supervising dive activities and assisting with student divers.
How getting started:
You can Sign up for Divemaster Online - PADI's eLearning option - to start now. You can work through eight knowledge development sections using a web-based system that lets you learn at your own pace. You also have access to an online version of the Divemaster Manual for reference during and after the course. Consider taking also the Dive Theory Online, another PADI eLearning program, that takes you step-by-step through dive physics, physiology, skills, equipment and environment, plus a Recreational Dive Planner (RDP) review.
Another option is the DiveMaster Crew- Pack to study by reading the Divemaster Manual, Instructor Manual and The Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving - that you'll need during the course and watching the Divemaster Video. (In all these cases you have to complete a final exam to get the certification).
