If you’ve always wanted to take scuba diving lessons, experience unparalleled adventure and see the world beneath the waves, this is where it starts.
The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
Knowledge Development: Your dive center will provide all the materials you need to start learning. This phase covers basic techniques, terminology, and safety procedures in scuba diving. You'll read explanations and watch demonstration videos for each concept. Your PADI Instructor will check in with you to ensure you understand the important information.
Confined Water Dives: These training sessions take place in a pool or pool-like conditions. You'll learn and practice basic diving skills and safety techniques, including how to handle emergency situations. These fun sessions allow you to become familiar with the gear and techniques in a safe environment.
Open Water Dives: This is the exciting part where you make your first dives in the ocean! During the four open water dives, you'll demonstrate various skills both underwater and at the surface to prove your competence and safety as a diver. After the training portion, you'll have time to explore the underwater world with your instructor. Once your instructor approves your open water training dives, you'll be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver, allowing you to rent diving equipment and dive anywhere in the world up to 18 meters for life!
