Barefoot Cay Resort

Barefoot Cay is a luxury beach resort on the south side of Roatan, set in its own four acre private cay. 

Accommodation is in modern, deluxe rooms, each with air conditioning and views of the Caribbean. Guests enjoy a range of international and locally-inspired dishes, on-site spa services and a pool. Room service is available if guests prefer to eat in their rooms.

Diving off Roatan - the largest of the Bay Islands and close to the world's second largest barrier reef - appeals to beginners and more advanced divers. Local dive sites offer coral reef walls, deep canyons and sheer cliffs, as well as a number of wrecks. Marine life is abundant and includes seahorses, turtles, spotted eagle rays, reef sharks and the occasional dolphin.

Arrival:

• The closest airport is Juan Manuel Galvez Int. Airport (RTB).
• The resort is 7 km from the airport; transfers from/to the airport are included.
• The resort staff will be waiting to pick you up in one of our air-conditioned vehicles if you provide us with your flight information prior to arrival.
• Some flights go through San Pedro Sula, on the mainland of Honduras, though we recommend that you fly directly to Roatan if possible.
• 30-90 day temporary visitor’s visas are issued by immigration upon entry into Honduras (usually at the airport), and cannot be obtained in advance.
• The Honduran government requires that all visitors entering the country from the U.S. or Canada have a valid passport with an expiry date at least 6 months past their departure date.
• Travelers with passports from other countries may have different visa requirements. Please ensure that your passports meet these requirements, as travelers with non-complying passports will be turned away at the airport
• Check-in time is at 15:00.  For guests arriving earlier, we can take care of your registration papers, and you’re welcome to use the pool, relax in a hammock, hop in for a snorkel, or order some lunch if your room is not yet ready for an early check-in

Departure:

• Check-out is at 11 (Guests are currently required to be at the airport 3 hours before all international flights)
• Once you have checked out at reception, a staff member will be available to help you with your bags and escort you to your transfer to the airport
• It is recommended to be at the airport one hour prior to departing domestic flights and two hours prior to international flights.  On Saturdays and Mondays, which are high volume days, the airport requests that travelers be at the airport three hours prior to departing international flights, in order to avoid missing your flight.
