I booked a trip (hotel and diving course) with them when Malaysia opened up for travel from Singapore. Full payment became due immediately. Once paid we realized that, other than the rest of Malaysia, Sabah did not allow foreign tourist without quarantine. This reputable tour operator was not aware. The payment was not refunded and I found them very inflexible with the rebooking so that all money is lost. All interaction was over email and whatsapp and my requests to speak over the phone were rejected.

Clean and friendly
My 3 18+ year old kids and I stayed at Downbelow Adventure Lodge in February. It was a little tricky to find when we arrived in the middle of the night, but fortunately there were cafes open 24/7 downstairs to be able to help us find it. We found the lodge clean and friendly. Cora and Chris were always there to help us with a smile and make sure we had everything we needed. The showers were clean and the room was cool and quiet. We had a fabulous stay, thank you.

What an unbelievable place !!
Comfortable rooms as well as dorms, staff here cannot do enough for you, as much tea and coffee as you can drink, all free, you pay next to nothing to stay here, but it’s better than some very expensive hotels I’ve stayed in, staff here 24/7 so feel totally at ease and safe, fantastic place to stay, we’ll positioned, and brilliant diving trips, treks up mount Kinabalu, safari trips into the jungle, all done from this one place, this was top of my bucket list, I’m so pleased to have visited Borneo, it’s amazing

Visiting KK to climb Mount Kinabalu
Travelling on the island of Borneo for a month with last stop in KK with sole purpose of climbing Mount Kinabalu. Downbelow helped with seamless organisation and communication. I even decided to stay at their city centre lodge which is super clean with staff on the premises 24/7 and was picked up from the airport too. Lodge is ideally situated within easy walking distance of main KK waterfront as well as the numerous shops and restaurants in this thoroughly modern city. Would recommend this company not only for the ease of organisation but the friendly staff in the main office and at the lodge.

Really nice clean room with very friendly and attentive staff. They even sourced us a baby cot and had it nicely set up in the room. Can't fault the place. Toilets and shower clean. Quite basic accommodation but certainly good value for money.
