Haliotis Madeira is a PADI Dive Centre based at Hotel Dom Pedro Baía in Machico, just five minutes from Madeira Airport.
Known as the “Pearl of the Atlantic,” Madeira enjoys a mild climate that makes scuba diving possible throughout the year. The archipelago includes Madeira Island, Porto Santo, also known as the Golden Island, the Desertas Islands and the Selvagens Islands.
The Desertas Islands are home to the only colony of Mediterranean monk seals in Portuguese territory, and lucky divers may occasionally encounter them underwater.
Water temperatures range from approximately 17°C to 22°C, while visibility typically varies between 10 and 25 metres.
A 5 mm wetsuit is recommended during the warmer season, from June to October. From November to May, a 7 mm wetsuit is generally more suitable.
White Waters Hotel is a cosy boutique hotel located in the centre of Machico, Madeira’s historic first capital.
