TRAVEL INSURANCE & VISA INFO

Please note most visitors need a Tanzania visa (apply online as e-Visa or get on arrival). All guests are recommended to get their international travel insurance to cover any unexpected situations, such as trip cancellations due to not being able to arrive at the hotel due to weather constraints and the need to stay overnight at a nearby hotel, delays, or medical emergencies. This situation will be considered as Force Majeure. The hotel nor the service provider will be held responsible for any additional expenses involved in rebooking or extending international flights or unwanted accommodation stays. In addition to the international insurance, since 1 October 2024, all international visitors to Zanzibar (excluding residents) must have mandatory Inbound Travel Insurance issued by the Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC) for the entire stay (can be purchased online before or on arrival).

Description

Dive Point Zanzibar is a small PADI dive center based on site at the Sunshine Marine Lodge. 

Diving takes place on walls, sloping reefs and sandy bottoms interspersed with rocks covered in coral. 

The team offer daily dive and snorkelling trips to the north-east coast of Zanzibar and Mnemba Atoll. Dive trips depart in the morning and come back around lunchtime. During the surface interval, snacks, fruits and water are served.

A range of recreational training courses are taught including Discover Scuba, Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver and Divemaster. Specialties are available. Course can be taught in English, French, Danish and Polish. 

Facilities include a training pool, spacious classroom, rental gear, small shop and storage area. WiFi is provided throughout. The spacious wooden dive boat is moored out the front of the resort.

How to get there

Arrival

  • A taxi will be arranged to transfer you between Stone Town/Airport and the lodge. 
  • If you choose to take an independant taxi, be aware that not all taxi drivers are familiar with the lodge and may confuse it with Sunshine Hotel, further south down the coastline.
  • Check in from 2:00 PM

Departure

  • Check-out is by 10:00 AM
  • A $5pppn infrastructure tax will be charged at check-out
  • A return transfer to the airport can be arranged by the resort.
