Description
One Ocean Zanzibar proudly holds the distinction of being Zanzibar's first and most reputable PADI 5* dive center.
Embarking on daily excursions, One Ocean Zanzibar caters to both divers and snorkelers. Each day, participants enjoy two dives with a refreshing surface interval at sea, accompanied by local snacks, fresh fruit, and water. Dive groups are thoughtfully organized, taking into account qualifications, skills, and experience, with a maximum of 4 guests per guide.
We have 3 dive centres located in Stone Town, Matemwe and Kendwa.
In Stone Town you’ll find big coral gardens, great macro-life, interesting wrecks and the possibility of night diving. Our traditional dhow leaves from our dive centre, located at the bottom of Kenyatta Road, at 9:00 in the morning (meeting time 8:30) and are usually back by 13:30. We also arrange sunset cruises, night dives and trips to prison island.
From our Matemwe base we dive Mnemba Atoll, the most popular dive spot in Zanzibar. Our boats leave for one trip a day and do two dives or snorkelling sessions (each about 45–50 min) We leave early in the morning (meeting time 8:00) and are back early afternoon (around 13:30) . Because of the big tidal changes, we frequently travel to another beach by bus to meet the boat. It’s a quick, easy drive on an excellent road. We also provide free transfers to this centre for our divers staying at hotels and villas in Pongwe, Kiwengwa, Pwani Mchangani and Matemwe.
From our Kendwa base we dive Tumbatu Island and Nungwi reefs. These sites offer some of the best corals in the entire island and are home to a diverse selection of marine creatures. Our boat leaves for one trip a day and we do 2 dives (each session is about 45-60 minutes) around Tumbatu Island or Nungwi reefs. We also organise snorkelling trips at Tumbatu island. Meeting time is in the morning (between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.) and are back after 5-6 hours.
