Enjoy Cabo reeflife at night! If you have never been night diving rest assured your crew are all instructor level and you do not need to be Advanced to come with us. Bottom depths are well within Open Water limits. If you want to try a different adventure in diving this is for you!
We will meet at the shop half an hour before sunset (approximately 5.30pm in winter and 7.30pm in summer) to check-in. The dive site is only 5 minutes by boat. Once at the reef the instructor will talk you through procedures and good night-diving practices. The descent is an easy 15ft/5m to a sandy bottom. We will dive for maximum 50 minutes. As we move over the reef we will encounter many interesting things! Here are a few examples:
Bioluminescence shimmering against our movements
Moray eels hunting
Certain fish species displaying different more obscure colours to blend into the night
Wrasse sleeping in coral heads
Occasional turtles sleeping in rocky hollows
Sting rays siwmming up to flashlights
Crustaceans that sleep in the day come alive and crawl over rocks and sand (Huge lobsters)
If you're a nudibranch fan we have huge Sea Hares roaming the reef at night time
INSIDE Plaza Nautica. If coming from the road you can find us behind Cabo Cantina bar/restaurant. If coming from the marina walk up from dock J until you see Cabo Sailing and turn right.
