Boat diving allows divers to reach offshore dive sites that aren’t accessible from the shore, including reefs, wrecks, and walls in deeper water.
dive boats are equipped with dive ladders, platforms, or drop zones, making water entry and exit easier compared to rocky or slippery shorelines.
By diving from a boat, you can avoid surf, strong shore currents, and poor visibility caused by stirred-up sediment near the shoreline.

We are the gateway to Bari Reef, a sheltered reef that offers an incredible diversity of marine life. Guests at Sand Dollar enjoy exclusive access to the reef via several entries: giant stride / stairs from the dock, easy walk in from the sandy beach, and two convenient stairways at the sun decks.

Dive Friends provides all the services necessary, from 24 hour access to tanks on the dock and at the drive thru, a large airy gear room, and wagons to transport your gear. Boat dives, courses, and numerous tank pick up locations around the island ensure you’re getting the most out of your time on Bonaire.

All divers need to do the mandatory buoyancy check (Marine Park rules) on the house reef of the dive center before they can join the boat dives. This can not be done on the morning of the first boat dive, but needs to be done at least the day before that dive before 3:30pm.
