"The Old Lady"
At the dive center, while we sort and pack the gear needed, you can relax with a coffee or tea while one of our dive guides will give an extensive briefing about the El Penon wreck.
When everything is packed we will go to the dive location of the El Penon.
After her service as a harbor tug boat in Santa Cruz (Tenerife’s Capital city), El Penon was scuttled in 2006 to serve as artificial reef. Since her sinking she has flourished and now this “Old Lady” attract divers from all over the world.
Over the years El Penon has become a safe-haven for a wide variety of marine life, making this wreck aperfect site for underwater photographers.
Visibility both inside and outside the deck is excellent. On scuttling the El Penon was prepared for penetration, all hazardous objects and structure were removed, and swim throughs made easily accessible. This makes her not only a beautiful dive that you can explore inside but also safe as purpose sunk and cleared.
The wreck is easy to reach from shore and her keel rests at a depth of 32 meters, perfect for Advanced divers.
Our professional dive guides will show you all the marine life what this wreck has to offer.
You dive always with a guide and we work in small groups to make your diving stress free and safer. Limiting the number of divers per group means we can give each diver our utmost attention, thus give you a more relaxing stress-free dive.
On return to the dive center we will collect up and wash down all the equipment used. Here you can ask questions or share your experience with others while having a soft drink, coffee or tea.
