• Minimum age: 12+
• Min. certification: Open Water Certification required
• Min logged dives: 4 logged dives required
• To join a trip that includes diving at Blue Hole, the minimum certification requirement is PADI Open Water Diver or an equivalent certification from another recognized organization. This ensures that divers have the basic skills and knowledge necessary for safe diving at the site. If you're planning to join a group or a specific dive trip that includes Blue Hole or similar sites, the following requirements should be considered: 1. Certification Level: Minimum of PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent. Advanced Open Water divers are eligible for more advanced sites like Blue Hole South Reef, Canyon, or the deeper areas around Blue Hole. 2. Health and Fitness: A medical statement may be required if you have any pre-existing medical conditions. In some cases, you might need a doctor's approval to dive. 3. Experience: Divers with limited experience (less than 20 dives) may be recommended to do a check dive or refresher dive before participating in dives at sites like Blue Hole. 4. Booking and Group Size: Booking in advance is essential to guarantee a spot, especially for popular sites like Blue Hole. A minimum number of divers may be required for certain boat trips or group activities. 5. Dive Site Entrance Fees: A $10 entrance fee is required for Blue Hole, which is payable on-site. To ensure your safety and comfort, Big Blue Dahab can assess your suitability for certain dives based on your certification level and experience. If you're not yet certified, courses like PADI Open Water or Advanced Open Water can be completed at the resort before booking a dive trip.
