The Jaya is our expedition vessel – currently serving Eastern Indonesia.
She moves seasonally between Cenderawasih Bay, Ambon, Banda, Raja Ampat and long range expeditions. Built 20 years ago, she has sailed and ventured the waters of South East Asia with her faithful Captain who has been running the boat since the beginning. Jaya is a very strong, capable and comfortable boat designed to explore the fantastic world around us.
what you can expect
Jaya itself is designed from the keel up to appear as a Phinisi sailing schooner, using traditional methods that have served the Bugis people of South Sulawesi for centuries. This boat is completely hand built over the course of 18 months and looks stunning with her six sails up.
The Upper Deck has plenty of shaded space for lounging, napping, eating or just enjoying the breath-taking scenery as it quietly passes by. It includes four small separate tables with round the edge seating so that you can spread out in the space in-between dives; whether to do logbooks or games with the team!
There is also a comfortable Sun Deck area equipped with beanbags for your afternoon nap, sun bathing or for star gazing at night. All meals, snacks and refreshments are included. Excluding beers and soft drinks, which can be purchased onboard.
Below deck contains 6 cabins: 4 twin bed share and 2 triple bed share. There are 3 shared Bathrooms with Toilets and Showers. A full boat contains a total of 14 guests. Each cabin provides an Air Conditioning unit to keep you refreshed, plug sockets for charging any cameras or electricals (EU fitting) clean bedding and a towel.
Going on Land
These land visits include anything from a walk up to a viewpoint so that you can stretch out those sea legs and experience a fantastic view over the islands, going to see a stunning lagoon or visiting a beautiful beach to enjoy a sunset or to play football with the crew! The crew takes part in beach clean-ups as we travel and guests are always more than welcome to give us a hand! We also like to throw a BBQ on a special occasion where our location is suitable for it.
