You then embark on a whale-watching excursion around the island of Moorea. Once an animal is spotted, the team observes its behavior from the boat and determines if a whale-watching session is possible.
Your adventure begins at the Ia Ora Diving center , on the beach of the Sofitel Kia Ora Moorea. Our team welcomes you, equips you with snorkeling gear, and briefs you on the rules of approach, safety, and respectful behavior to adopt around humpback whales.
You then embark on a journey along the east coast of Moorea, searching for whales present during the season. Once an animal is spotted, the team observes its behavior from the boat and determines if a safe entry into the water is possible, in accordance with local regulations.
When conditions permit, you will enter the water accompanied by your guide for a snorkeling experience , without ever disturbing the animals. You will be able to see whales swimming, surfacing to breathe, hear their sounds, and sometimes observe mothers with their calves.
Between each observation, the boat remains on active watch while offering you a moment of relaxation and explanations about whale behavior and their migration.
The meeting point is directly at the Ia Ora Diving center, located on the beach of the Sofitel Kia Ora Moorea. Upon arrival, follow the signs to the water sports activities: our center is next to the jetty, right on the sand.
