  • You will need to have completed the PADI Open Water Diver eLearning programme before arrival and bring your eRecord along. This is the theory and knowledge development part of your PADI Open Water Diver course.

What to expect

This is the e-learning version of the PADI Open Water Diver course. It means you complete your learning at home rather than on site and is therefore the perfect option if you're short on time. The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases. The first is the theoretical development, which covers everything you need to know about basic techniques, terminology and safety procedures in scuba diving. The second is confined water dives, i.e. training sessions conducted in a pool or in waters with pool-like conditions. They give you the opportunity to get used to the equipment you will be using and to practice basic diving skills and techniques for diving safely. The third is open water diving. You will take your first dives in the ocean! During four dives, you will practice various skills underwater and on the surface to ensure you are a safe and competent diver. The training portion usually only takes up the first part of the dive, which means you can spend most of the time diving with the instructor and exploring the underwater world. As soon as the instructor approves your open water dives, you will obtain the PADI Open Water Diver certification! This means you will be allowed to rent diving equipment and dive anywhere in the world to depths of up to 18 metres, for life!
