Designed to protect the wellbeing of our guests and staff, our new revised policies implement cleaning and safety enhancements in the wake of COVID-19. For the airport transfers: there can only be two guests per row in our vans, with a space between each guest while for the boat transfer we will require temperature checks for guests and employees. There will be a limit of 16 guests per boat and guests will be required to practice social distancing. Upon check-in, guests will be taken to their individual accommodations. Staff will re-confirm the paperwork submitted. We will encourage guests to follow social distancing procedures in public areas with loungers and hammocks placed more than 6 feet apart in the beach and pool areas and we will increase the cleaning and disinfecting procedures including employee areas. Kayaks, paddle boards, Hobie Cats, and the corresponding equipment will be thoroughly sanitized before and after each use. To help promote social distancing, we will be rearranging the dining room tables, adding more individual tables to accommodate parties of two and four and we have eliminated our breakfast buffet and family-style portions. Each accommodation is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after every stay. While guests are on island, we will tailor our housekeeping procedures based on each guest’s preference and will offer full service, limited service, or a daily linen delivery. Staff will be required to wear face masks.

You then have 48 hours to take care of other travel arrangements. Your credit card will only be charged after that period

Description

Turneffe Island Resort provides convenient access to over 70 dive sites. 

Diving around Turneffe atoll offers the chance to swim with turtles, giant groupers, nurse and reef sharks, angelfish, pufferfish, eagle rays, sting rays and the indigenous white-spotted toadfish. 

Purpose-built dive boats depart for single tank dives, and surface time is spent back at the island, except for Tuesdays where a full day dive/snorkel excursion to the Blue Hole takes place. Having assembled your gear for the first dive, the team will manage your equipment while you relax between dives as part of the signature dive valet service. 

PADI’s most popular recreational diving courses are offered by the professional dive team including discover scuba, the open water referral course and specialty qualifications. The dive center provides a range of rental equipment including dive computers. Nitrox is available and picnics can be arranged for the full day trip to the Blue Hole (once a week).

Resort Description

Turneffe Island Resort is a true diver's paradise on a private Caribbean island 30 miles off the coast of Belize.

The colourful Belizean resort is characterized by traditionally painted wooden buildings, palm trees and white sand beaches. Coral reefs humming with kaleidoscopic reef fish surround the resort. It is common for divers to spot turtles, reef sharks, sting rays and blue spotted eagle rays. 

Wooden guestrooms each offer air-conditioning, 24hr electricity, safe drinking water and garden or ocean views. Complimentary WiFi is available throughout the resort and you’ll discover a fresh water pool with sun loungers next to the beach. 

Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served family style in the dining room and hors d’oevres and drinks are available to order all day. There is a gift shop with souvenirs, postcards and basic practical items. 

Spa treatments are offered including massage, scrubs, facials, manicures and pedicures. The resort offers volleyball, Hobie Kat sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling as well as trips to the Blue Hole, Half Moon Caye, Long Caye and the Red Footed Booby Bird Sanctuary.

How to get there

Arrival

  • If you are reaching the resort by air, arrive in Belize International Airport by 2:00pm on Wednesday or Saturday*. A representative will meet you at the airport wearing a Turneffe Island Resort shirt with logo on it. 
  • If you are arriving by land, please meet the resort representative at the Radisson Fort George Marine by 2:00pm. 
  • Boat transfer time is around 1 hour and 30 mins. Please pack a small bag with your most important items to carry with you on the transfer. You will not be able to access your luggage during the transfer.
  • *Boat transfers outside of these times will incur an additional charge and must be arranged in advance.
  • Check In is at approximately 5:30pm when the transfer boat arrives.

Departure

  • For departure by air, please depart no earlier that 11:30am on Wednesday and Saturday. 
  • Check Out is at approximately 8am when the transfer boat leaves.
