We usually get back to you within 24 hours to confirm that your booking is final

3. 48H FREE CANCELLATION PERIOD

You then have 48 hours to take care of other travel arrangements. Your credit card will only be charged after that period

Description

Kalypso Dive Center offers amazing dive spots around the unique Marine Park of Kalypso.

Kalypso Dive Center was established in 1998 and has since built up an exceptional team of multilingual instructors and dive masters. The waters around Kalypso area attract a wide variety of marine life. With more than 30 meters visibility underwater, the biodiversity of this closed ecosystem inside and around the rugged coastal area of Karavos beach is something really unique in the Mediterranean Sea!

The whole area is protected from the weather conditions and characterized by the influx of food brought by the strong currents of the Libyan Sea. As a result, the unique local fish species remain and reproduce in the Kalypso area while large pelagic fishes visit the waters to hunt. The rare flora is attract large turtles and loggerheads at times, while in the bay you can sometimes spot Mediterranean seals.

Resort Description

Kalypso Cretan Village Resort & Spa is a 4* hotel built into a natural harbour, overlooking Karavos beach with a fantastic dive center on site.

Quietly located on the beach of Karavos, Kalypso Cretan Village offers comfortable rooms, a number of swimming pools, a tennis court, a spa and a mini-mart. Between the reception and the pools with a view over the Libyan Sea, the restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner including fresh seafood, Greek and international cuisine. Enjoy drinks in one of the three bars.

Tucked away in the opening of the beach, you'll find the 5* PADI IDC dive center where you can snorkel or dive on 10 different dive sites, suitable for all levels of experience, and all accessible without a boat. Plakias Beach is on half a mile away, and the Preveli white-sand beach, its natural palm grove and monastery are well worth a visit.

How to get there

Arrival

  • The best airport to fly into is Heraklion, which is about an hour and a half away from the resort. 
  • From the airport, you should get a taxi to the hotel. You can either arrange this yourself upon arrival, or ask the resort to arrange one for you in advance.
  • If you opt for a prearranged taxi, please share your flight details with us as soon as possible. Be aware that you will still pay the driver directly in cash.
  • Check in time is 2 pm. 

Departure

  • Check out time is 12 noon. 
  • Having checked out, the resort will call a taxi to take you back to the airport.

Diving

  • On diving days, please head down to the dive center for 9:30 am ready to start. 
  • Please be aware that Kalypso Dive Center doesn't offer diving on Saturdays
